First Burn

This morning when Wesley woke up, he was pretty stuffy and congested. He tossed and turned all last night and now I know why. Poor little man had a stuffy nose. Well, I gave him some medicine so hopefully he will sleep better tonight. Then, later during the day, I was making a recipe called "pecan crispies." We have a pecan tree in the front lawn of our church and have alot of pecans that I want to use. They were good by the way. After I had baked them, I turned the oven off. Wesley, as one of the previous picture posts shows, he likes to open up the oven. Well, he opened it up and when I looked over there, it was too late. He had touched it with both of his little hands. He cried for about an hour straight. I ran his hands under cold water, sprayed some kind of burn spray on it, but he was still crying. Finally, I started pulling him around on the blanket on the floor, which he loves, and that calmed him down. At his bedtime, he'll usually lay there in his crib for a little bit and look at his book on his own and soothe himself to sleep. Well, tonight, he was immediately out. He was so sleepy. Notice the burn on his hand in the picture. His left hand is worse than his right. One of the pictures is of the christmas parade we went to Saturday night. Hannah, age 9, a girl from our church whom Wesley just loves, went with us. He seemed to enjoy it for about 35 to 40 minutes and then was ready to run out in the street and be a part of it all. He does not like sitting for long periods of time. So, we didn't get to see all of it, but that was ok. We had fun anyway. The other pictures are just random pictures.

Last night we went to this big christmas concert they have here in Albany every year called "The Peppermint Pops." It's in an arena and we thought it would be best to sit at the bottom of one of the upper levels, (don't worry the walls were high enough where Wesley couldn't fall over)instead of sitting in the middle of the folding chair seats where he could fall over the chairs. Well, as the band was playing, Wesley was really having a good time dancing. He was holding on to the concrete walls jumping up and down, the same wall just moments before he threw his thomas train over and mark had to go get. Thankfully, it didn't hit anyone down below. I was sure he would hit his mouth on it and he eventually did, except it was his forehead/eye. He started crying so we just left. It ended up not being bad at all. But, we enjoyed the short time we were there anyway, especially seeing Wesley having such a good time. I wouldn't trade these moments for anything. I thank the Lord that he has allowed me to be a mother.

Well, as far as burning his hands in the oven, he is following in his Uncle Daniel's footsteps, who did the same thing before he was 2 years old. As far as all that dancing he did at the concert, well, I'm not sure where that comes from!
