Pregnancy Woes

I am so ready to see our new little boy and so tired of being pregnant. Once I hit 30 weeks, it has been going by so slow and I am having so many more aches and pains. It is getting harder for me to walk b/c of the pain and pressure in my pelvis. What I hate most about it though is not being able to do the things with Wesley that I use to do. It's hard for me to even lift him up to change his diaper. I just want to be able to carry him around like I use to and spin him around until he gets dizzy. It's hard for me to even get up out of his bed after reading to him. I think I would rather get up several times during the night with the new baby than be pregnant right now. Now, don't get me wrong, there are times when I enjoy being pregnant. Like when I can see my belly move from side to side but I just am ready for it to be here. I am 33 weeks, as you can see from my ticker at the top. At my last dr.'s apt, he checked me b/c I told him I've been feeling alot of pressure. He said his head is down but I'm not dialated. I'm trying to find ways to not constantly think about it but it's hard. Also, I am so tired of people's comments, Like "I don't think your going to make it much longer," "Your about to pop any day," "Are you sure its not twins," "That's going to be a big baby," and instead of saying something about me actually being pregnant, one lady said, "wow, you have gained some weight since I last saw you." Ugh! I would never say any of these things to a pregnant woman. I don't know what it is about being pregnant that makes other people, mainly older women, say whatever they want and feel. One lady yesterday morning at church said, "you are alot bigger than I was." She had her baby at 27 weeks! I just wish people would realize that it doesn't matter how big or small you are just so long as you have a healthy baby. Just had to vent.

Now some things about Wesley. About 2 weeks ago, we went bowling with some people from our church. This was Wesley's first time in a bowling alley and he did not know what to think about all of the noise and people. He stayed by me for a while, and even sat on my lap for about 5 minutes without budging, which was unusual. I didn't bowl of course, but everytime Mark got up, he took Wesley with him and he helped him. Whenever they knocked down some pins, the people from our church would make a big deal out of it and get real excited, to try to get Wesley excited. Well, after a few turns, after the pins were knocked down, Wesley went running down the side (right in front of other people bowling), all excited. I about had a heartattack b/c I just imagined someone knocking him in the head with a bowling bowl. He did this several times until Mark had to literally hold down so he wouldn't go running. I wish I would have gotten it on video.

Last night, I think Wesley had his first really bad dream. He has done this before during the night but not this bad. I could tell from his cries that he had probably had a bad dream. So, I went in there and laid with him for a little bit and he went back to sleep. When he woke up this morning and all today, he has been saying "scared, Wesee's room." Thankfully, he doesn't seem to scared and is taking his nap now. I just wish he could tell me what he had dreamed.

This is of Wesley at the bowling alley sitting on top of the balls.

This is of Mark and Wesley bowling. Mark couldn't get the gutter guard thing for kids to work.

This is of Wesley before we left for church one Sunday morning. He looks so big.

"Big Church"

I've been trying to keep Wesley in the church services or what we call "big church" more often now. He has been getting a little better about staying in there longer. When I say longer, it could vary anywhere from 5 minutes to about 30 to 45 minutes. One Sunday, a few weeks ago, he stayed in there the entire time, only b/c he had just bumped his head on the floor and he didn't want to leave me. I think its harder when your daddy is the preacher and when he is so use to going there often and playing in the sanctuary on the piano and pushing the wheelchair around. I am working on it and slowly, but surely, determined that he will one day stay in there. I know he is still young. I just can't imagine right now having a baby in there with a 2yr old. Our church is small, so we don't have many activities for children his age, which makes it more challenging. The people are very kind and tell me not to worry about how he acts in the service b/c he has to learn. However, its still hard b/c I am very sensitive to other people's feelings and I don't want to bother anyone else. Tonight at church, I tried to keep him in there. He stayed about 10 minutes then was ready to go and then come back in again. Whenever Mark prays or says something, he says "daddy, daddy." However, I'm confident that he will eventually stay in there someday, with the Lord's help:)

Also, a cute thing Wesley did tonight was when I was praying with him at bedtime, Mark & I usually take turns, he has this big stuffed lamb, & he folded the lamb's paws or feet, whatever lamb's have. He waited until I was finished to unfold them. It was so cute. I am going to have to start bringing our camera in there for bedtime.

July 4th

We had a busy July 4th. Wesley woke up that morning saying "fiwoks." Translation "fireworks." My mom and dad came down to spend the day with us. We cooked hamburgers and hot dogs and made homemade peach ice cream, ummmm! I love peches! My mom and dad brought down a whole bunch of them from Lane's packing company in Fort Valley. I could eat 5 or more peaches a day. Especially during this time of year when their this good. After we ate, Mark and I went shopping for t.v.'s. A few weeks ago, lightining struck our t.v., computer, and this radio I had in the kitchen that my brother-in-law, Michael, gave me for christmas. Thankfully, bellsouth sent us a modem free. However, a t.v. guy came and said the t.v. is shot, unless we want to pay hundreds of dollars to have it fixed, which wouldn't be worth it in the long run. So, we thought we would find some good sales on july 4th, but we didn't. Well we ended up getting one anyway from Wal-mart. It's one of those flat-screen lcd's. We researched it and decided on an lcd b/c plasma's don't last as long. We eventually want to hang it on the wall so we can get rid of our entertainment center.

So, we got back from HOURS of shopping for t.v.'s. I was pretty exhausted. If I do alot of walking now, I get tired faster. I feel like an old lady. Wesley only ended up taking a 15 minute nap. So, I was a little concerned that he wouldn't be able to enjoy the fireworks, but he was fine. The fireworks started at 9:30 and Wesley loved them, then seemed like he got a little tired of them later. So, we left at 10. He was ready to go to bed when we got home and right when we walked in the door said, "Pa, read." So, my dad read to him and said he fell asleep while he was reading which he never does.

I need to figure out how to put videos on here b/c Wesley likes to sing along to certain songs now, especially "you are my sunshine." It's so cute. He has to cover up his face with stuffed animals or a pillow though when he does it. I guess he doesn't want us to see his face when he's singing. He is becoming more and more vocal now and gets frustrated when we can't understand what he's saying. Some cute things he's saying now is "ticish," or tickilish (I don't know if I spelled that right or not,) whenever we tickle him, or just if the cat's tail touches him. Mark has taught him to snore where he breathes in and then goes, "mememememe." He was just doing that on the monitor. We still use the monitor for him b/c he still waits for us to come in there and get him whenever he wakes up. I guess he got that from when he was in his crib. Whenever he gets a "booboo," he has to tell and show everyone he comes in contact with. We were at Dairy Queen one time and as we were about to leave, he just went up to these people and showed him his "booboo."
Here are some pictures from July 4th.

Almost 30 Weeks!

I'll be 30 weeks on saturday. It is really going by fast. I had my apt. today. Everything went well. The heartbeat was about 140, she thought the head was already probably down (but can still change). Wesley's head was in position early too. I was always scared I was going to go in preterm labor b/c of that. I won't say how much weight I've gained but I am right on track to how much I gained with Wesley. I didn't want to gain as much this time but I guess my body has a specific amount it wants me to gain:) I don't know why its hard for me to spit out those words of how much I've gained. Oh, I'll say it. I gained about 37lbs. total with Wesley and I figure that's how much I'll gain this time too.

Yesterday, I tried trimming Wesley's bangs. They were getting too long and in his eyes. Well, he did o.k. for just a little bit, but it wasn't long enough for me to finish. So,here are some pictures of his uneven bangs. I have tried again to trim them but he acts crazy like I'm coming to harm him or something. So, I don't know what we're going to do about his next apt. I think I am going to tell them to cut it shorter, if they can, so it will take longer to grow back. I told Mark we're going to have to bring some rope and tie him down. I've even thought about giving him some benadryl or something (of course I wouldn't do that, but the thought has crossed my mind).

Here are some random pics of Wesley. I sat him on the table, which I never do, and he was eating some peaches.

Since my last post about Wesley's potty training, he has gone a total of 3 times to the potty. He now doesn't seem as interested in it. I'm not going to push him though. He says "m&m" whenever he sits on it though, expecting to get one. Thankfully, he doesn't get upset when we don't give him one. My mom and dad are coming tomorrow for July 4th so I'm sure I'll post about that and put up some more pictures.

Update: I was able to trim Wesley's bangs this afternoon by giving him jelly beans. We may have to bring a whole bag with us to the hairdresser next time:)
